INSITE

About INSITE™

The OFMS (d.b.a. INSITE) founders pioneered the development of INSITE in 1966 at MIT - the worlds first space, asset, and indirect cost decision-support suite of systems. With over 40 years of continuous development by practicing Facilities Managers, INSITE offers a cutting-edge, comprehensive suite of intelligent decision-support solutions for managing, allocating, and planning physical assets with the ability to seamlessly link to any local or enterprise-wide data source. Unmatched by any competitors are built-in business rules developed over decades of senior management experience, including the U.S. government-supported area measurement rules of NCES's FICM manual and GASB 34 asset depreciation rules.

The INSITE web-enabled, site-licensed robust database for space and assets, Net-FM, provides field-level data security while providing users with familiar Windows-based interfaces and navigation. The Net-FM database links seamlessly with either the unparalleled floor plan system, Visual-FM, that requires no polylines for FICM or BOMA areas while returning polylines for non-polylined AutoCAD drawings, or directly with polylined AutoCAD DWG floor plans using the INSITE AutoCAD overlay, ACADLink.

Transfer of Net-FM and Visual-FM or ACADLink technology for rapid and effective implementation is by the non-profit INSITE Consortium founded by MIT in 1973 and independently managed since 1996 exclusively by OFMS, Inc. (d.b.a. INSITE)

The INSITE Name

INSITE is derived from the original MIT 1966-1970 space inventory system development project "INstitutional Space and Inventory TEchniques". In 1996 when the fully independent corporation, OFMS, Inc. d.b.a INSITE, was created, MIT turned over this trademarked name to OFMS, Inc.
